It's A Nice Place To Visit But I Wouldn't Want To Live There

Today was our last full day in Ruidoso. Tomorrow we head on back home with a stop in Roswell, NM to take a gander at some aliens. We are no more used to the cold temperatures now then when we arrived. Brrrrr! We are definitely warm weather kind of people. Especially Nolan- after an hour his cheeks and fingers turn bright red and he cries from the pain.

We drove over to Capitan, NM and went to the The Smokey Bear Museum today. We never knew the whole story of Smokey the Bear but it's really interesting. Little baby Smokey was rescued from a forest fire by some firefighters and he was brought back to health after being burned. There were actually 3 Smokeys used in the campaigns and the 1st one is buried at this museum. Poor Jakob cried big ol' crocodile tears for Smokey #1, he was very upset Smokey died. I'm sure part of his emotion is because he has experienced so much death in the last 1 1/2 years. Poor thing.

Smoky The Bear

After some lunch at The Smokey Bear Restaurant (of course) and a little rest we headed to downtown Ruidoso and did a little souvenir shopping and played some more in the snow.

I absolutely love this photo of Nolan. I wish I had a DSLR so it could be that much better!

Jakob was cracking up when I started to take this photo and he stopped and posed before the shutter could snap shut. Haha

They look to be on top of the world!

On top of the world

I asked a local to take a photo of all of us. Not to shabby for the one and only shot!

I look forward to getting back to my routine (I'm so predictable it's sickening) and back to all of your blogs within the next couple of days. The withdrawals are just terrible!

Scratch That- Snow Is F.R.E.E.Z.I.N.G.

Have I told you how much I love you? All of you! Your comments on my last post had me cracking up and laughing so loud that Jakob and Chris wanted to know what was so funny. I think Heidi's comment was one that is worth repeating. "Stop doing stupid stuff and I won't write about you." Is that perfect or what? And it also answers the question of going private. Heck no! If "S" doesn't like what I write she can just not read my blog. Whatever.

And for all of you who have told me to be careful...hahahahaha! Yes, I am accident prone and it turns out my children are too! We are walking time bombs I tell ya'. If we can get through the next two days and get home without seriously hurting ourselves I will call it a miracle. Seriously.

{Kimber} asked where the pictures of me were. So here ya' go. One of me and the boys at this awesome sledding place that I will post more pictures of later. Seriously- it was a blast. Seriously- I am going to be hurting so badly tomorrow. *sigh* Oh and that reflector thing on my hat...ignore that. I didn't realize it was showing up like that in pictures. *shrug*

I'm doing my best to keep up with your blogs. Please forgive me if I have missed a post! Right now Nolan is waiting for my computer so he can watch Star Wars Episode III.

Have I Mentioned That Snow Is C.O.L.D.?

Today has proved to be fun, cold, painful, exciting, cold...oh wait. Did I say that already? We managed to find some sled type items and a hill to play on. There were a few spills and Nolan wiped me out entirely at the bottom of one of his runs. Swept my legs right out from underneath me. Ouch. I was worried about my camera, but it survived the beating and all is well. The boys had a blast and we will be going to some kind of ski resort type place and will be tubing down the hill in a much more organized fashion this evening.

In other news, it has been brought to my attention that Nate and Josh's mother has found my blog. Bawahahahahahahaha! And...she has come to the conclusion that I am not fit to be a mother and is questioning my mothering skills. Again...bawahahahahahhahahaha! Hilarious, isn't it? Maybe it's time for some True Story Tuesdays about her- seeing as how she likes to read my blog and all. I'm sure she'd find what I have to say interesting. Hi "S"! *waving*

That White Stuff is C.O.L.D.

After a 10 hour car ride we made it AND there's snow on the ground! The boys are so excited and Jakob promptly worked himself into one of his worst asthma attacks ever. Scared himself pretty badly. We were prepared with a nebulizer and meds but it took a while to get it under control.

Yeah I know that I said I was gone until next Wednesday or something silly like that, but really y'all know me better than that- right? My addiction is far to strong to go cold turkey.

The high speed internet service in the hotel is S.L.O.W. so downloading pictures is sure to drive me insane. I'll try though...anything for my lovely followers. You're welcome.
