True Story Tuesday

I did it. I joined the millions of Americans who vowed to lose weight this year. Now don't get me wrong, I have not given up my love of cookies. Mmmmm...cookies. Nope, I think my diet is right on par, but I did buy an exercise video that promises to turn me into something like this.

And I'm well on my way. I bought and paid for the video. A week later I opened the packaging, and 5 days after that I got ready to pop it into the DVD player. I tell ya', I got an all over body workout too.

I worked my abs when I had to move the DVD player from my bedroom to the playroom by sucking in my stomach and trying to reach the outlet to unplug the thing from behind the dresser.

I worked my arms by carrying the DVD player into the playroom and hoisting it up onto the shelf. Never you mind that the DVD player weighs 2.5 lbs.

I worked my quads by squatting behind the entertainment center and plugging all the cables into the back of the TV.

Yup, the video lived up to all of its hype. Core body work, arm work, leg work...I can't ask for much more than that.

After such a strenuous workout, I decided I earned a reward for a job well done with some couch time and a snack size bag of fruit snacks. Yup...I chose fruit over cookies.

I should be looking like this in no time at all!

I am linking up with Once Upon a Miracle today. Make sure to click on over there to read more true stories!

YEs! I totally think moving the DVD player is a workout.
I would look like that, too, if I had to...y'know...move stuff. I'm sure I would. I bought a pilates video and just going up and down the stairs from bedroom to living room as I decide where to do the workout is enough for me.

Now that's my kind of exercise! LOL That's about as good as me looking at my Just Dance Wii game last night and WANTING to play. LOL

Apparently I have been doing this exercising thing all wrong:) And I am SUPER impressed that you chose fruit over cookies! Sometimes, I think I would probably chose both, you know because they cancel each other out!

LOL! Yep, you are well on your way. I admire your commitment and willpower to choose fruit snacks over cookies. WTG!!!

LOL LOL I love your story. I also joined a million americans (well canadians too) to lose weight. So far, my work outs have consisted of bringing my rebounder to the living room from the basement, walking around the fitness store talking to the cute boy selling treadmills, and trying the sex-swing looking ab machine in the As Aeen on TV Store ... I'm going to be sexy skinny in no time.

You are a rock star! I do go to the gym 5x a week but my fave exercise is watching yoga in the mornings before work. All those breathing exercises have to burn what? 400, 500 calories, right? It's a wonderful way to start the day!

Way to go working out so hard! You will look like her in no time. Maybe you should move your dvd player back and forth twice a day though...you know, just to kick it up to a whole new level : )

Good for you. You'll be looking that soon:)

That's my idea of exercise!

That is my kind of workout...I should try that more often. I love fruit snacks.

Hee hee!

And Mimi only said that because she once kicked one of her little darlings during Tae Bo, right?

Somehow, I think chasing a 3-year old around should qualify as several workouts a day. But my butt begs to differ...

So, are you sore from your workout today? :)

I've been doing the Shred. So far I look nothing like Jillian. Now I'm wondering if it's because I still choose cookies over fruit. :)

Oh you are a hoot!! It's all about making the right food choices and fruit snacks were definitely the way to go. lol Now if I could just get my hubby to stop making those dang cookies, maybe I could be as good as you?! ;)

That sounds like my kind of workout! LOL Actually that is so very sad for me. I need to get more exercise than that! :)

Not quite the body I want to wear. (I almost said not quite the body I desire and then had to find other wording to make the real intent clear.)

That is funny!!! In my case my husband buys the cookies so I will simply blame it on him.

You are doing better than me! Today my excuse for not exercising is that I need to entertain the two sickos who are home from school! Maybe tomorrow!

I don't think this post updated on my blog roll yesterday, cuz I missed it. oops!

Oh Julie, you never fail to crack me up!!! I have been doing my Wii Fit semi-regularly since I got it for Christmas... of course, I'd generally rather do the things that burn 2 calories than the ones that burn 20. The Super Hula Hoop seriously makes me feel like I'm going to fall down and die... so I usually avoid it. ;) I am contemplating re-joining Weight Watchers, but first it was DH's b-day, then my b-day, then Super Bowl Sunday, next Valentine's Day, then a pizza party for my youth group... you know, I think just keeping track of my schedule should be considered exercise!

I admire your dedication to getting in shape. I wish I was half as good as you. I made the same promises to myself. I also ordered a DVD that made some great promises. However, mine is still in the shrink wrap and I have no intention of moving a DVD player. Thanks for making me laugh out loud as I read your post!
