True Story Tuesday

Since only 1 or 2 of you were reading my blog when I posted these pictures the first time... this one kind of falls under the category of Ripley's Believe it or Not. And by the way, you guys are rockin' the comment love lately! I am lovin' all of you and for all of my new followers- Welcome! I'm glad to have you aboard!

I live in a house which is across the street from a golf course. Errant golf balls often make their way into my yard, on the street in front of my house, and once even through my bedroom window. We have a lot of golf balls in our possession.

I live in a house with 5 people of the male species. They like sports. One of the sports they like to play is golf. Good thing we live in a golf course community.

Only in a house full of the male species and a lot of golf balls does something like this happen when the lone female in the house goes to change a burnt out light bulb:

I am linking up today with Rachel and Mr. Daddy at Once Upon a Miracle. You can read more true and fascinating stories over at their house!

ok that's just weird. How did that happen?
We live on a golf course as well, get the balls, but never through a window. On the weekends one of the boys will hang a sign "Is your ball in our yard? GET LESSONS AT (phone number)

What?? I'm so confused? How? Why? What????

So my first thought was "Huh?" Then I thought "Ooooookaaaaaay." Then I thought "Ohh, wish they'd done the whole ball coz I've never seen a golf ball without dimples before." Does this make me sad?

Kelli @ RTSM said...

That looks so strange...and I think we need a few more details! So did they do that on purpose?!?

Mr. Daddy said...

that is such a waste of a good light bulb!!!!!!

So what is the RESsssssssssT of the story??? LOL

Whoooooaaaa! That is insane! How did it happen to get just close enough to melt, but not smack it to smithereens??? Once in a lifetime shot!

Okay, that's totally funny, but I think I can one-up you on this...

A few months back our school teacher neighbor was working with Bubba on his creative writing and gifted him one of those hand held voice recorders. Of course, he used it to record himself farting, burping, and what not... drove us completely batty for days. Then, it mysteriously disappeared. I had no idea where it was and didn't care.

Fast forward a couple days, I smell something burning and start freaking out. I can't find where the smell is coming from, but it's in the dining room and I'm completely puzzled. Finally, I stood up on the dining room chair and found the half-melted voice recorder stuck to one of the light bulbs in the chandelier. Yep. Daddy Bub secretly 'hid' it up there and forgot about it. Glad he didn't burn down the house.

I should have taken a picture... I need to remember these things for TST! ;)

Congrats too, BTW. I see you are nearing the 200 club. Not that I'm monitoring how many followers you have or anything 'cause I could care less. ;)

Oh that is funny! It reminds me of the time when my brother was younger and my mom caught him lighting golf balls on fire in the garage. FYI they explode when lit on fire, your boys are dang lucky that the golf ball didn't catch on fire. Did anyone ever own up to doing this?

Is your bedroom window a par 3? :)

Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma said...

Seriously, how in the world did that happen? Good thing it didn't start a fire, that would have been scary!

Lisa said...

Okay, I am SO with Rachel in that is one good dang light bulb! LOL How on earth did it NOT burst into a million pieces? I am beyond puzzled. Love the "Par 3" thing too. Your house "collects" things, doesn't it? golf balls, bad neighbors and their critters, etc.... maybe you should move? Or put up a good privacy fence? lol

Emily said...

Oh goodness...good thing it didn't catch fire! Are golf balls flamable?

Pam said...

Wow...to funny.

How weird is that?! I like that you took a picture and shared it with us. That's what I call a blogger that's on top of things! We used to live next to a golf course and for some reason I felt the need to collect the balls that landed outside of our door. Weird, I know. Then on Christmas I gave them to my husband!

Wow. Thanks incredible. I wonder how long it had been up there. I wonder if you noticed a burning smell one day but never could track it down...
