Thank You Very Much- Vacation Style

The Daily Dribbles

It's Thursday and time for my weekly therapy session otherwise known as Thank You Very Much hosted by Kmama at The Daily Dribbles. After reading my enthralling, can't stop reading until you've finished the very last word thank you's, make sure to hop on over to Kmama's house and link up your own Thank You Very Much!

To Jakob for twisting his ankle two days before we were to leave on vacation to New Mexico and bringing back vivid images of a broken ankle hours before we were to leave for a trip to the coast last summer. Thank you very much.

(FYI- This is a picture of Jakob's broken ankle, not his sprained one.)

To Jakob for surviving the sprained ankle but then falling on ice as soon as we arrived in New Mexico and screaming like he broke his hand. Thank you very much.

To Nolan for sliding down a snowy hill and flattening me at the bottom and laughing hysterically as I fall like an Oak in a forest. My fibro body just can't handle that kind of damage. Thank you very much.

(FYI- This is not my tree picture. I stole copied this photo off Google images.)

To the snow that had Nolan crying every single day from the pain it inflicted on his cheeks, lips, and fingers. Thank you very much.

To the looooonnnnngggg car ride home with nothing to look forward to and turning my beautiful children into little hellions that forced Chris and I to yell at them to behave and say things like "don't make me pull this car to the side of the road." Thank you very much.

To the train that stopped on its tracks and moved backwards 5 miles from our home after a 10 hour car ride. Thank you very much.

(FYI- This is not my train picture. I stole copied this photo off Google images.)

To Chris who thought that it was OK to drive like a bat out of hell to try and beat the train to the next crossing so that we could finally get home. My foot ached after trying to push it through the floorboard Fred Flintstone style. Thank you very much.

To the laundry and chores that magically appear after an extended trip away from home. Thank you very much.

(FYI- This is not my laundry. I stole copied this photo off Google images.)

Ow, ow, OW! That ankle picture just gave me symapthy pains...and then I scrolled down, and the laundy image did, too.

I swear, another vacation is usually needed just to recover from a vacation away! I hope you and your family settle back in to normal life relatively smoothly.

That ankle picture made me cringe for real!! . . . and that laundry's got nothing on mine - you should have stole/borrowed a picture of my pile! :-)

OMW, Jakob and his ankle! The car ride home is always the worst... and the unpacking and the laundry is even worse than that! Ugh.

That ankle looks so painful.

I bet your pile of laundry is bigger than that one. I'm always tempted to just throw out our clothes when we get home from vacation and just start over because it looks like I'll never catch up with the laundry!

Aaaaaaah Vacations. Something went wrong when they were invented.

I use the "Don't make me pull this car over" line all the time! Thank goodness for dvd players in cars! Don't you just hate laundry...it never seems to end!

I saw that ankle pic before I even read anything and thought "OH NO! Not again!". Thank goodness its' of his broken ankle.

All in all, you guys had fun though, right? I love getting away, but like you, the coming back just isn't too much fun.

Thanks for linking up!

glad you made it home safely. We rent an Rv when we take road trips with our kids over 3 hours. Being able to separate them is worth the price of the rental. I haven't done laundry in a few days and now mine is insane. I get to spend the last day of the year doing laundry. fun stuff.

Okay, now that doesn't sound like a vacation to me ;) I don't know which is worse, the picture of the ankle, or the thought of all that laundry. Ugh.

Purple might be my fave color but I can't imagine have an ankle draped in it - major ouch! Glad he didn't injure it anymore on the trip.

Poor Nolan -- my hands are killing me right now just from the little cold snap we've had and I can't imagine what that felt like on his precious little face.

I'm glad you're home and supplying us with enjoyment on a more regular basis but did enjoy the posts while on the road. You're so dedicated!

Wishes for a great 2010 for you and thanks for the laughs in 2009. Looking forward to many, many more!

At least you did not use the old phrases of "I am going to put you in the trunk if you don't stop." or "Do you want me to leave you on the side of the road?"
Isn't it funny how you promise yourself as a kid that you will never say those things and then.......you become a parent. Ha ha

You know you really looked forward to doing all that laundry. It's not officially a vacation unless there is a ton laundry at the end. That is the true mark of the end of vacation.

I hurt just from looking at the picture of Jakob's ankle...Yikes! I am glad he didn't break it before this trip. And I hear you on the laundry thing! My new motto is "I finished the laundry and the ashes are in the fireplace!" Happy New Year!

Blick! Laundry after a trip is THE WORST! I loved all of your Google images!

Ouch to the ankle. I've never broken anything and when I see stuff like that, I'm thankful I haven't!!!

Nice to be home - outside of all the laundry? :o)

Wait, your laundry appeared after being gone for a while?

HOW DO YOU GET IT TO DISAPPEAR??? TELL ME THE SECRET NOW!!! OR I WILL UNFOLLOW YOU!!!! ha ha just kidding.

Seriously, my laundry is a bottomless pit. And I truly do stay on top of it, but it just never. ever. ends.

'scuze me while I go cry in the corner now. It's okay... there's a big pile of dirty laundry I can sit on and use to dry my tears.

Poor Jakob! And snow is horrible! Ashton is dying to see some and play in it. She doesn't listen to me when I tell her how un-fun it really is!
