Even though Liz at Sugarplum Creations has ended this series, I wanted to finish out my month of Christmas socks. I can't just leave things unfinished like that. It's a blessing and a curse. The last week did not go according to plan. Jakob sprained his ankle which ruled out our obstacle course ( a scout activity) and an overnight at Grandma's made the cookout a little difficult. (Again- a scout activity) And just so you all know- no, the boys do not get their hair brushed on days we don't leave the house and yes, they are wearing the same clothes in some of the pictures because some of the activities were done on the same day. Yeah, I was slacking this year. We got it all done though and that's what matters, right? Right?!

Day 19
Day 19 was spent making sugar cookies. I do not decorate them on the same day because this proves to be exhausting for all involved. So on this day we cut and baked and stored them away for another day.

Day 20
And that other day was the very next day! The boys decorated the cookies and ate more frosting then they put on the cookies themselves. I think that is how it's supposed to be though, isn't it?
Day 21Day 21 brought another scout activity. They decorated soup cans to make pencil holders or "stuff" holders. The boys liked this so much more than I thought they would! I thought that maybe they'd want to give them away as a gift, but there was no chance of that.
Day 22A night at Grandma's house was fun for all involved...including me. I got to get stuff done and they love getting to spend the night and having an adventure.
Day 23Grandma is a very hip and cool Grandma and she took the boys to see Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel on opening day. The boys both liked the movie but Jakob's official review was that the movie was to long.
Day 24On Christmas Eve we finished our puzzle. The boys really enjoyed putting it together and it is still on our kitchen table.

And there you have it! 25 days of activities. Some were fun, some were not so fun, and some planned activities didn't pan out. But the boys loved it and starting around Thanksgiving next year will ask on a daily basis when the socks are being hung up again.

19 Validations To Make Me Feel Worthy:
How fun!
Wow!!! what fun for the kids!
I need to borrow a child - cause I really want to see the Squeakquel!!
Cause, really? That 15 year old in the other room won't go even with threats of torture....
Awww. they are so darn cute! You are a good mommy!
What a cool countdown! I need some cookies now, mmmmm... My boys love puzzles too. We bought six puzzles this year only I end up doing most of the work. Its great family fun though. Looks like you had a great time with your boys!
Very Fun! My girls don't get their hair brushed either on days we don't leave the house & usually have to change from their pj's to clean pj's before bed because that is all the dressing that gets done around these parts on those days too! ;)
Youre the best Mom ever!
My boys don't get dressed or brush their hair on days we don't go out. Heck, sometimes it's a struggle just to remember that I have to remind them to brush their teeth!!!
Loved the 25 days of Christmas. Y'all have a Happy New Year!
Sending some bloggy love your way on Thursday. I'm going to be on the road heading home, so I'm letting you know now, but the post is scheduled to come up Thursday.
Ha! My kids have been known to wear the same clothes for three days in a row just because. Never the youngest though since he changes his by himself at least three times a day (which just contributes to the laundry monster, lol)
I can't tell you how much I love this! I am going to do something similar when Hannah gets older. Your boys will always remember this and will probably do this with their children someday!
I am so stealing this idea. You are awesome! What fun!
Great times! You were all busy; what fond memories you are giving them.
Lovin' those cookies! And we saw the squeakal on Christmas evening. Along with everybody & their brother!
It looks like the boys had a great time. We loved the Squeakwel music.
I love this idea, and want to attempt something similar next year for my little guy (I'd have to downsize a bit, he's still pretty young...)
And yeah...there are days when hair doesn't get brushed around here, either, if we're not leaving the house. Some snowy days when we've been trapped indoors forever, we're lucky to even change out of our PJs!
The cookies look so yummy! I didn't make sugar cookies this year...no time:( I made some stuff holders like that a few weeks ago for Henry's assistant teacher. It was a quick, easy, and inexpensive gift! Your's turned out really cute!
I still think that's the coolest idea ever. However, I don't know that I could come up with and execute 25 activities for my kiddos.
Good for you!!
great family fun though. Looks like you had a great time with your boys!
Work from home India
I really enjoyed your 25 days of Christmas Activities! You rock!
