Countdown to Christmas- Week 2

I am linking up with Sugarplum Creations today for Week 2 of Countdown to Christmas.

You can see days 1-3 here.

Day 4

Day 4 brought the excitement of decorating the tree. (Yes, I cut Nolan's mop since last week's photos.)

We tried to patiently wait for Josh to get home from college but he got stuck in traffic and we started before he arrived. He got home in time to help us finish up.

Some of my favorite ornaments. The one on the top left says:
Merry Christmas From Heaven
I love you all dearly
now don't shed a tear
I'm spending my Christmas
with Jesus this year.

Day 5

Day 5 was making pizza snowmen and a picnic in the playroom. This met an achievement for scouts. (I tried to edit the photo so you can see my fancy schmancy drawing on the paper.)

The boys absolutely loved doing this and have asked several times to do it again. I bought pre-made crusts. (The small ones had 3 in a package) I found big and small pepperoni and of course cheese and sauce.

-
Part of Jakob's job to complete the scout achievement was to "set the table". He laid out the towels, and put out the plates, napkins, and cups. I cracked up when I saw he had lined them up like desks and facing towards the TV.

Day 6

On day 6 we read Christmas stories. The boys booed when they saw this, but then proceeded to find eleventy hundred Christmas books and wanted to read every single one. (No comments from the peanut gallery on my appearance in the only photo of the whole series.)

Day 7

Day 7 was my "off" day. The boys got Pez candy and dispensers.

Day 8

Another scout achievement was tying knots. The boys learned an overhand knot, a square knot, and how to tie their shoes! I bought different colored shoelaces and this helped them so much because they could see where the strings belong so much easier.

Day 9

We put together 1/3 of a puzzle on day 9. I buy a puzzle and separate it into 3 ziploc bags and put them in 3 different socks. Day 1 is always the edge pieces and the last bag of puzzle pieces is always opened on Christmas Eve.

Day 10

Day 10 brought sadness for Nolan. He lost his sock opening privilege due to some bedtime antics the night before. Jakob got to learn some magic tricks to show to dad when he got home from work. I bought a box of magic tricks at The Dollar Tree and the boys loved learning how to do them!

Day 11

Day 11 was movie night! The boys got lots of treats on movie night and they always look forward to it.

We watched the greatest Christmas movie of all time.

How fun. I love the snowman pizzas...they turned out so cute. YOu are such a fun mommy! I am totally stealing this idea next year. My girls had fun writing a paragraph about the item we pulled off of our Thankful chain today. :) Kidding...they didn't want to write it, but that is what happens when you are sassy pants.

The boys look like they are having a blast.

And (ahem)... you look like a much-loved Mommy in that picture. Which is pretty much the best compliment ever, right? :)

Are you kidding me? The word verification is LIZETERD... you're up to something aren't you?

You cut hair too?! Sheesh, you're making us all look bad! Different colored shoe laces?! Genius! I'm a righty trying to teach a lefty (who wears flip-flops 90% of the time) how to tie shoes. He understands it, but he gets soooo frustrated. I am definitely going to try the colored laces!

Tree looks great! :)
